biomimicry and eco-friendly design

Going green is a good thing. Only problem is too many people who do it are more concerned with form than function. I love when a product is appealing, but if it doesnt do anything special whats the point? So here are some green ideas that are actually awesome as well as functional. first up is a car that doesnt suck as much as a Smart car.. the BMW hybrid. This car is a beast, with a 0-60 time of less then 4.8 seconds (thats as fast as the porsche 911 Carrera) and 75mpg average there is no green car i can think of that compares. http://inhabitat.com/2010/11/08/bmw-unveils-brand-new-plug-in-hybrid-sportscar/?ewrd=1id-sportscar/?ewrd=1

when you cant fix a problem should you just avoid it all together? thats what Foster and Partners feel could be the soulution to airplane emmisions. They have a plan to create the worlds first commercial spaceport! Thats right..go check it out! http://inhabitat.com/2010/10/25/foster-partners-unveil-spaceport-america/

skateboard art! yes its great because its about the only way to reuse the broken boards from years past. It doesnt matter if its using boards to make furniture or painting them up and hanging them on the wall like a canvas its cool to see a "sport" using thier old equipment as an art form.. haroshi is a great example..
